Instructions for installing your new HeatShields and WarmFeet
heat reflecting multi-thermal layers for boots and shoes.

Installing your shiny new HeatShields is easy. Find your style of HeatShields or WarmFeet and install in minutes!

Original & v.3 proSkier
HeatShields reflect heat naturally produced by your feet and help to keep heat from leaving the boot. The shaped design virtually eliminates cutting or trimming in adult boots sizes...one size fits all boots. In Children's boot sizes it is recommended to cut the heat shield in half and align "toe" and the toe of the liner and "heel" with the heel of the liner overlapping the HeatShields underneath the sole of the liner. Original HeatShields work well in all boots that have a removable liner. This includes most Ski Boots and many Snowboard, Snowmobile, Ice Climbing, All Weather, Hunting and Cold Weather Boots. HeatShields are an excellent upgrade for electric boot heaters and ski boot heaters. Perfect for keeping feet warm when you travel to the coldest hot places to ski or snowboard.

Remove the liner from the boot shell

HeatShields wrap around and stick to the outside of the inner liner of boots.
HeatShields will stick better to a clean liner . Some boots may have a retaining latch or screw type fastener for holding the liner in the boot. It is an old bootfitter trick to get a willing helper to spread the boot shell open while you remove the liner. A cold beverage nearby is preferred.

Peel off the paper to expose the sticky stuff

Notice where "TOE" appears that will want to be at the tips of the toe of the liner. It is a good Idea to put the HeatShields in place to check positioning once prior to peeling. Peel the protective backing paper from the HeatShields. It is very sticky so keep it away from anything you don't want it stuck to. Lay the HeatShields with the sticky side up on a flat surface.

Toe to toe

Put the tip of the toe of the liner onto the sticky side of the HeatShields.
Make sure the HeatShields is positioned correctly and smooth the HeatShields into place.

 WarmFeet Undersoles

Undersoles are designed to be placed under existing insoles in shoes or boots, simply pull out your existing insole, trace it with a pen or marker and cut out carefully with scissors. Slide the insole with the undersole underneath, back into the shoe or boot. Reach into the shoe or boot and make sure positioning is correct. In instances where it is necessary to hold the undersole to the insole or boot bed double sided carpet tape can be effective.

WarmFeet Undersole Overtoes

Undersole Overtoes have a toe box cover and thus when tracing the insole it is important to line up the toe region first leaving the toe cover intact. Trace the insole and trim to fit with scissors. Slide the insole with the Undersole Overtoes underneath and toe flap on top, back into the shoe or boot. Reach into the shoe or boot and make sure positioning is correct, especially in the toe area making sure the toe cover is against the top of the toe box and the connecting flap is all the way to the tip of the toes. Most likely the toe cover flap will not have to be adjusted or trimmed. If it is necessary to trim the toe cover flap, do so maintaining the shape and be careful to trim with smooth cuts and no nicks. In instances where it is necessary to hold the undersole to the insole or boot bed double sided carpet tape can be effective.

We have been told HeatShields work great in boots
that have electric heaters to allow heaters to be used at
a lower setting to conserve batteries and to provide
greater comfort during power failures.

You can find HeatShields in the Coolest Ski and Snowboard Shops in the USA or order online.
